MUSTANG, Okla. – Friends and family gathered alongside members of the 45th Field Artillery Brigade to bid farewell to outgoing commander Col. Thomas Gibson, and welcome incoming commander Col. Johnnie Moss, during a change of command ceremony at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Mustang, January 7, 2024.

Gibson’s career with the Oklahoma National Guard began in 1990 as an enlisted Soldier and he commissioned three years later. He was assigned as commander for the 45th FAB in 2022.

“I have to thank our outstanding command teams for being so great," Gibson said. "There’s no way I could fail with this outstanding leadership and Soldiers.”

During the ceremony, Gibson was presented the Legion of Merit in recognition of his leadership and guidance while on deployment, as well as his dedication to the Soldiers of the 45th FAB.
