Task Force Tomahawk arrives in Africa, assumes responsibility of crisis response mission

Task Force Tomahawk, comprised of Citizen-Soldiers from the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, has successfully arrived in Africa, marking a significant milestone in America's ongoing commitment to protect and support its personnel and facilities across the continent. With their arrival, Task Force Tomahawk assumes responsibility for crisis response operations, taking over from TF Wolfhound of the New York National Guard.

This deployment represents a vital continuation of America's dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of its personnel and facilities in Africa. Task Force Tomahawk brings together highly skilled and trained Citizen-Soldiers from across Oklahoma, Nebraska and Indiana, ready to face the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead.

With their extensive training and unwavering commitment, Task Force Tomahawk stands prepared to respond to any crisis, working tirelessly to maintain security and support US operations. Their arrival signifies the seamless transition and seamless handover of responsibilities from TF Wolfhound, demonstrating the strength and adaptability of the National Guard.

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma National Guard broke ground on the new Oklahoma National Guard Museum in Oklahoma City in a ceremony attended by veterans and current National Guard members on May 16.

“Today is a milestone for us as we kick off [construction of the new museum],” said Denise Neil, executive director of the Oklahoma National Guard Museum. “It’s an exciting time, shoveling the dirt forward as a symbolic way to show our kick-off.”

Neil said the new 39,375-square-foot building, located at 3301 NE Grand Blvd in Oklahoma City, will provide the Museum with the space and tools needed to tell the Oklahoma National Guard’s story from its founding through modern times.
