138th Fighter Wing Participates in Readiness Exercise

Army Increases Tuition Assistance, Adjusts Credentialing Program

The Army announced policy updates Dec. 11, 2024, for the tuition assistance and credentialing assistance educational programs for Active-Duty, Reserve, and National Guard Soldiers. The changes include increased semester hour and dollar amount caps for TA and a reduction in the dollar amount cap for CA.

Selfless Service in Action: How the OKGuard supported Hurricane Helene relief efforts

Oklahoma National Guard members with 90th Troop Command’s Detachment 1, Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, provided relief efforts for North Carolina residents following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The North Carolina Department of Emergency Management submitted an Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) request to the Oklahoma National Guard for one CH-47 Chinook helicopter with hoist equipment and aircrew to support Task Force South in Greenville, South Carolina. The helicopter and its crew of Oklahoma Guardsmen arrived in Greenville, South Carolina on October 6, 2024. While on ground, the team moved more than 97,000 pounds of equipment including generators, fuel, hay, food, water, clothing, blankets and more over the course of 18 days. Oklahoma Guard aviation unit trains for deployment to Kosovo

Nearly 50 Oklahoma Army National Guard Soldiers with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion (Assault Helicopter Battalion), 244th Aviation Regiment, 90th Troop Command, are undergoing mobilization training at Fort Cavazos, Texas, in preparation for their upcoming deployment to Kosovo in support of Operation Joint Guardian (KFOR).

The deployment aims to provide mission support for the Georgia Army National Guard’s 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and contribute to the NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo, comprised of 27 partner nations. (Oklahoma National Guard Video by Staff Sgt. Reece Heck)
