Women's History Month 2021

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nona Tah

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nona Tah is one of the appointed Chief Warrant Property Book Officers for 90th Troop Command and is the only female in her field for the Oklahoma Army National Guard. She joined the OKARNG in 2006 and has developed her career throughout her time in service within the 45th Field Artillery Brigade and 90th Troop Command. She entered as a unit supply specialist and has held positions as the property book clerk and Alpha Company 120th Engineer supply sergeant. She went through Warrant Officer Candidate School in 2015 and completed Warrant Officer Basic Course shortly after. She received her commission early 2016, was appointed PBO in February 2016.

While in her early thirties, CW2 Tah was juggling work, school and single parenting. The National Guard was suggested by a friend of hers and she made the conscious decision to join to help pay for school and expand opportunities for herself.

To CW2, Tah, this Women's History Month theme of "Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced" means "economic change and growth!!! Although, we have come quite far, there is still a gap that needs to be narrowed as we continue to push forward. The era where our men were the sole providers and only decision makers has been long gone!"
