Mission:

The 137th Special Operations Wing is a force provider organized, trained and equipped to support combatant commanders across the spectrum of conflict projecting airpower anytime, anywhere.
 

Priorities:

Focus on reorganization and training for small units that will deploy in teams to contested environments through the Air Force Force Generation cycle and A-Staff construct.

Bring Airmen together to operate as closely at home as they will abroad by building a culture of connection and taking pride in bearing the Oklahoma Standard.
 

Air Force Special Operations Command Truths:

  1. Humans are more important than hardware. 
  2. Quality is better than quantity. 
  3.  Special Operations Forces cannot be mass produced.
  4. Competent Special Operations Forces cannot be created after emergencies occur.
  5. Most Special Operations require non-SOF assistance.
OKGuard leader retires after 34 impactful years

Oklahoma National Guard departs for D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission

Oklahoma National Guard opens new Joint Operations Center

Leaders with the Oklahoma National Guard held a ceremony for the opening of the new Oklahoma National Guard Joint Operations Center, Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, in Chandler, Oklahoma. The facility, named after the late Benjamin T. Walkingstick will serve as a collaborative mission command facility dedicated to supporting emergency response efforts across the state. OKGuard, RSU agreement builds future leaders

Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino (left), adjutant general for Oklahoma, and Dr. Don Raleigh (right), president of Rogers State University, sign a memorandum of agreement for the Oklahoma Army National Guard’s Guard Officer Leadership Development program at RSU, one of the four programs throughout the state. The GOLD program is designed to develop and prepare individuals for commissioned officer roles in the OKARNG, equipping them with the skills needed to lead Soldiers effectively.



From 1917 to 1971, RSU was known as the Oklahoma Military Academy which has a storied history within Oklahoma as a premiere military academy.
