Q: How do I get to the OKRTI?
GOOGLE: 6500 N Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73111 NOTE: Spelling of Kelley is Kelley NOT Kelly. (You'll thank me later!)
A: If you are traveling by air, arrange to fly into Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City. Hail a taxi cab or contact an Uber or Lyft driver from the airport to the OKRTI campus.
Most conferences and training events take place in the Education Center which is the first building located directly on your left as you enter the Kelley Gate. Go to the Site Manager's office, room 110, if you are still unsure where you're supposed to be.
If you arrive after normal duty hours (0700-1700, MON-THU), report directly to the Housing building. The front desk is manned from 0600-2100, MON-FRI and limited hours on Drill weekends.
Q: Do I have to show ID to gain entrance to the OKRTI grounds?
A: Yes. The OKRTI has a manned security gate and 100% ID checks are in effect. Gate hours are 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. You cannot gain access to the OKRTI grounds outside of these hours without an issued gate card which are available at the front desk of the Housing building only.
Military personnel must have a valid military ID card in their possession at all times. Non-military personnel must have a valid Driver's license or State issued photo ID in their possession at all times. Anyone without a proper ID will not be allowed onto the OKRTI property.
Due to heightened security concerns, all persons, possessions and vehicles entering the OKRTI campus are subject to search at any time.
Q: What time does my class start?
A: Look for the report time on your orders or the Welcome Letter that directed you to be here. For military courses, check with your Unit Readiness NCO. He or she can verify report times from the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS).
Q: Does the OKRTI have lodging I can stay in?
A: Yes. Contact the front desk directly at (405) 475-1800 for complete details on availability.
Q: Do I have to be in the Oklahoma National Guard to reserve a classroom at the OKRTI?
A: No, but there is a fee for all non-Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) organizations and OKNG requirements always take precedence. The cost for non-official classroom use varies with the size of the room you need. See theEducation Center page for details.
The primary purpose of the OKRTI is to serve the OK National Guard. As such, all non-OKNG classroom reservations are on a "STAND-BY" status and it is understood if ANY OKNG entity requires use of the facility, other patrons may be asked to accept less desirable accommodations or may be asked to arrange for other outside accommodations.
Q: What resources are provided when I reserve OKRTI classrooms?
A: Each classroom includes access to audio/visual equipment such as an instructor computer workstation with overhead projectors, Blu-ray players, podiums, dry-erase boards, lapel & handheld microphones, etc.
The OKRTI does not provide expendable teaching materials or supplies. Dry-erase markers may be available in your classroom, but flip-chart paper pads, pens & pencils, etc. must be brought by the organization conducting the training. The OKRTI cannot support bulk printing/photocopying requests. Trainers should arrive with adequate copies of student handouts, etc. for all participants.
OKRTI classrooms are provided to you in a standard classroom configuration of student chairs and tables facing the instructor workstation at the front of the room. If you require an alternate set-up, you must plan for additional time and provide any extra personnel needed to rearrange the classroom. NOTE: If you do alter the classroom set-up, you are required to return it to its original configuration at the conclusion of your event.
Q: Can I use a purchase order number to pay for classroom rental?
A: Yes. We do accept purchase orders. You can also use a company check, cash, and most major credit cards. Call (405) 475-1502 during normal business hours for details on setting up an account.
Q: I've arranged to use one of your classrooms, will I be issued a key?
A: Keys to the classrooms may be issued if access is needed before and/or after normal duty hours. If you believe you will need a key, contact the Site Manager at (405) 475-1502 to discuss your situation.
Q: My classroom feels too hot (or too cold). What can I do about it?
A: The CHA units for the classrooms are pre-programed and run automatically and cannot be adjusted by the OKRTI staff. Classroom users can make slight temperature adjustments using the wall thermostats. Ask the Site Manager if you need any assistance.
Q: Is there a PX / Clothing Sales / Commissary at the OKRTI?
A: No. There are no AAFES facilities located at the OKRTI. The nearest military installation with AAFES facilities is Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.
Q: Does the OKRTI conduct a program for "at risk" teens?
A: No, but the Thunderbird Challenge Program, a program administered by the Oklahoma National Guard, may be exactly what you're looking for.
