Brig. Gen. Michael B. Meason is the Assistant Adjutant General, Oklahoma Air National Guard. He is the principal advisor to The Adjutant General on all Oklahoma Air National Guard matters. General Meason is responsible for the mission readiness and operations of two flying wings and one Aerospace Control Alert detachment, comprised of more than 2,300 Airmen serving in support of national defense objectives and domestic emergency response operations.
General Meason graduated from the US Naval Academy with a degree in Marine Engineering and was commissioned in the Navy, where he served as an Instructor Pilot in the F-14B, FA-18E/F, and T-34C. He transitioned to the Arkansas Air National Guard in 2008 and qualified in the A-10C with the 188th Wing. General Meason later transferred to the Oklahoma Air National Guard and served in multiple assignments as an F-16CM fighter pilot, Air Liaison Officer, Combat Training Flight Commander, Wing Inspector General, Vice Commander and Commander, 138th Fighter Wing. Prior to his current assignment, General Meason was the Director of Plans and Programs, Oklahoma Air National Guard.
General Meason is an Air Force Command pilot with over 3000 hours of flight time, 295 carrier landings as a Naval Aviator, and has completed numerous deployments in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, JOINT GUARDIAN, as well as INDO-PACOM Theater Support. In his civilian capacity, General Meason is a pilot with a major airline.
