Oklahomans Serving Oklahomans
The Oklahoma National Guard is built from the communities it serves.
Our Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen are teachers, mechanics, engineers, students, healthcare workers and business owners. They train part-time while continuing their careers and education, bringing military leadership and discipline back into the communities where they live.
Most of the time, Guardsmen serve under the governor to support the people of Oklahoma. When disasters strike — tornadoes, wildfires, winter storms or floods — the Guard responds to protect lives and communities.
When called by the president, Oklahoma Guardsmen deploy alongside the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force to defend the nation and support missions around the world.
Whether serving overseas or responding here at home, the mission remains the same: protect the people we serve.
