45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team

HEADQUARTERS: Norman, Oklahoma

The 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is one of only 32 infantry brigades in the United States Army inventory and is critical to the strategic capabilities of the nation.

Known as the "Thunderbirds," the 45th IBCT comprises over half of the Oklahoma Army National Guard's personnel strength.

The 45th IBCT's core wartime mission is to deter the enemy through fire and maneuver, destroy or capture enemy forces, and repel their attacks by fire, close combat, and counterattack.
