WEBVTT 00:00.009 --> 00:02.231 Yeah . So this is the Oklahoma National 00:02.231 --> 00:04.287 Guard Counter U A symposium and it's 00:04.287 --> 00:06.287 really focused on bringing together 00:06.287 --> 00:08.489 players , not just across the state , 00:08.630 --> 00:10.852 including the Oklahoma National Guard , 00:10.909 --> 00:12.949 uh the Fort Sill and their joint 00:12.960 --> 00:15.430 Counter UAs University that they have 00:15.619 --> 00:17.819 uh other national players from across 00:17.829 --> 00:19.940 the country to get in the same room . 00:19.940 --> 00:22.629 Talk about the issues related to UAs as 00:22.639 --> 00:26.010 a threat and how do we defend against 00:26.020 --> 00:26.440 that ? 00:29.860 --> 00:31.120 But these systems , 00:33.790 --> 00:35.659 so we have hosted counter UAs uh 00:35.669 --> 00:38.130 summits in the past , primarily focused 00:38.139 --> 00:40.349 on government only customers . So that 00:40.360 --> 00:42.880 way we're providing really kind , we'll 00:42.889 --> 00:44.945 call it that back door information , 00:44.945 --> 00:47.056 right ? So we can get everyone in the 00:47.056 --> 00:49.222 same room talk about what the problems 00:49.222 --> 00:51.333 are . This is the first time that I'm 00:51.333 --> 00:53.167 aware of any National Guard unit 00:53.505 --> 00:56.325 leading this type of activity . So it's 00:56.334 --> 00:58.825 exciting to see this happening here in 00:58.834 --> 01:01.625 Oklahoma and keeping Oklahoma at the 01:01.634 --> 01:04.485 forefront of the dramatic shift in 01:04.495 --> 01:07.925 military technology since the invention 01:07.934 --> 01:10.574 of the airplane for the National Guard . 01:10.584 --> 01:12.751 Again , since they have a dual purpose 01:12.751 --> 01:14.973 mission , you know , they can train for 01:14.973 --> 01:17.195 systems while at home . Um but they may 01:17.195 --> 01:19.251 get different systems that they're , 01:19.251 --> 01:21.819 they're fielding when they're overseas 01:21.830 --> 01:23.774 and , you know , they may not know 01:23.774 --> 01:25.663 until a week before they go where 01:25.663 --> 01:27.886 they're going to be at and what systems 01:27.886 --> 01:30.319 are going to be required to use . Um So 01:30.330 --> 01:32.552 really our goal is to provide them with 01:32.552 --> 01:34.690 that training up front . So they have 01:34.699 --> 01:38.199 not just a general understanding , uh 01:38.209 --> 01:40.153 you know , the various systems and 01:40.153 --> 01:42.042 threats they might see , but some 01:42.042 --> 01:44.320 really specific training on , you know , 01:44.320 --> 01:46.569 detailed counter UAs capabilities . Um 01:46.580 --> 01:48.650 you know , both UAs themselves , you 01:48.660 --> 01:50.771 know , how do they operate them to be 01:50.771 --> 01:52.938 able to help protect themselves , help 01:52.938 --> 01:55.271 perform their mission better . But also , 01:55.271 --> 01:57.216 you know , some of the counter UAs 01:57.216 --> 01:59.382 systems , you know , things such as RF 01:59.382 --> 02:02.120 detectors and radar to be able to help 02:02.129 --> 02:04.449 provide them that observable shield . 02:05.029 --> 02:07.196 Yeah , I'm very excited about this . I 02:07.196 --> 02:09.418 mean , again , this really kind of hits 02:09.418 --> 02:11.251 home to our mission as a land at 02:11.251 --> 02:13.307 university . We're all about serving 02:13.307 --> 02:15.529 the community and the people . Um And , 02:15.529 --> 02:15.410 you know , the National Guard is no 02:15.419 --> 02:18.100 better representation than the People's 02:18.110 --> 02:18.610 Army .
