Oklahoma National Guard Command Sergeant Major

      State Command Sergeant Major Tony F. Riggs, of Norman, Oklahoma, enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard on July 16, 1983 and completed Army Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

 

     Since joining the Oklahoma Army National Guard, Riggs has served in a variety of key positions throughout the state. Among these are: Chief of Firing Battery with Battery A, 1st Battalion, 160th Field Artillery; Battalion Fire Direction Chief with Headquarters and Headquarters Services, 1st Battalion, 160th Field Artillery; Field Artillery (13B) Senior Instructor with the Oklahoma Regional Training Institute; Operations Sergeant and First Sergeant with Headquarters and Headquarters Services, 1st Battalion, 158th Field Artillery; Battalion Command Sergeant Major with Headquarters and Headquarters Services, 1st Battalion, 171st Field Artillery; Operations Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 45th Fires Brigade, and; State Operations Sergeant Major with Oklahoma Joint Force Headquarters.

                 

     On December 1, 2007, CSM Riggs was assigned to the 45th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major. During his tenure as the Command Sergeant Major, Riggs deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. On February 15, 2012, he was reassigned to the Joint Force Headquarters as the Operations Sergeant Major. On February 07, 2015, CSM Riggs will become the 13th State Command Sergeant Major for the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
